Summer Ends & School Begins!
August at Roanoke Island Festival Park
As summer comes to a close at Roanoke Island Festival Park, we’re reflecting on a season filled with hands-on history, curious minds, and memorable moments along the waterfront. From families exploring the park for the first time to returning visitors joining their favorite programs, it’s been a summer to remember.
Our 2026 Summer Programs are still running through August 22, offering engaging daily activities for visitors of all ages. Each program was included with park admission and brought history to life through interactive learning and demonstrations.

As students head back to school, we’re reminded that learning doesn’t have to stay in the classroom. The stories shared here - of exploration, innovation, and early American history - continue to inspire curiosity year-round. Whether you visited us this summer or are planning your first trip, we invite you to keep discovering, asking questions, and connecting with the past.
Thank you for being part of our (still going) summer season!
