Roanoke Island Festival Park presents Where the Waves Break: Surfing in Northeastern North Carolina, a traveling exhibition from the Museum of the Albemarle. Discover the history of surfing, from its Polynesian roots to its arrival on the Outer Banks in the 1920s. Explore how shifting sands, ocean swells, and storms helped shape the East Coast’s best waves. This free exhibition will be on view at in the gallery space in our admission building through the end of the year.
