Celebrate Father's Day at Festival Park

This Sunday, we are looking forward to celebrating all of the special fathers and father figures in our lives. If you're scratching your head trying to think of a perfect gift for dad, we've got your covered. 10. Duck hunt in the Adventure Museum

Hop in the boat and challenge dad to a duck hunting contest in the Adventure Museum. Check out the nearby exhibits to learn about rich waterfowl history on the Outer Banks.

9. Fish off of the docks

Bring your fishing poles and cast a line off of our docks with dad. Enjoy the scenic views while you wait for the fish to bite.

8. Learn about sailing on the Elizabeth II

Visit Captain Robbie on the Elizabeth II and learn more about sailing, the Roanoke voyages and different parts of the ship. A 16th century sailor will also be there to greet you and tell you about his travels on the ship.

7. Practice woodworking in the Settlement Site

Before power tools, there was the bow lathe. Practice your carpentry skills with 16th century tools and learn how the first English settlers worked and played.

6. Play a 16th century game on the porch

Cool off under the shade of the porch and play a 16th century board game together.

5. Try on 16th century military gear

Sword fight, try on armor and learn about the first military camps in the New World. Make sure to get a picture with dad locked up in the pillory for mom.

4. Search for fossils in the Fossil Pit

Explore the fossil pit and keep an eye out for various fossils. Take your discoveries home with you as a keepsake.

3. Take home a hand-forged nail from the blacksmith's shop

Stop by the blacksmith's shop and have the blacksmith make a one-of-a-kind nail for your dad.

2. Dress up like a pirate and learn more about Blackbeard

Learn about the fascinating life of famous pirate, Blackbeard and try on your own pirate gear in the Adventure Museum.
