Summer Programs at Roanoke Island Festival Park
Summer is in full swing at Roanoke Island Festival Park, and we’re bringing history to life in the most hands-on way possible! From June 9 through August 22, visitors of all ages are invited to dive into a season packed with interactive programs, live demonstrations, and family-friendly fun.
Each week offers something new to discover. Little learners can gather for Summer Storytime in the Adventure Museum, while budding historians can test their creativity with New World Pictionary in the American Indian Town. Want to see history in action? Watch traditional crafts like ropemaking come to life, or step aboard the Elizabeth II for a thrilling sling gun demonstration. Over at the Settlement Site, don’t miss the arquebus demonstration, an up-close look at one of the earliest forms of firearms.
The fun doesn’t stop with scheduled programs. Take a stroll along the park trail and enjoy our Story Walk, or explore every corner of the park with the A250 Stamp Adventure, collect them all for a special reward! Whether you’re learning, playing, or just soaking up the summer atmosphere, there’s something here for everyone. Best of all, all programs are included with park admission—so come ready to explore, learn, and make some unforgettable summer memories!
