Whether you celebrate with fireworks, cookouts or just by spending time with family, July 4th is always one of the highlights of summer. Celebrating Independence Day allows us to show our appreciation for our freedom and country, all while having a great time. If you're looking for holiday activities to-do this year, make a trip to Roanoke Island. We've mapped out a day worth of exciting events to attend that are all within walking distance. Follow our itinerary for an exciting and memorable 4th of July.

9:00 am - Start your day with us at the Roanoke Island Festival Park! Stop by our ticket sales venue and pick up a free ticket to our July 4th Kids Show with the 208th Army Band. The band will perform patriotic tunes and tell the audience more about their instruments in the indoor theatre at 10:30 am. Before the show, shop at our Museum Stores, explore the Fossil Pit or play a 16th century game on the porch. The park is open from 9 am - 5 pm on the 4th.
